This work is part of the series 'Nude study' in which I record images with the Bye Bye Camera — an app I created. The mobile application uses neural networks to erase humans from pictures, but the camera maintains human traces. I compare these visual traces to surreal artifacts of a speculative scenario that is post-human.

The ebb and flow of organic matter, grounded in the physicality of paint on canvas, augmented digitally to bring life where there is none. Toying with the discomfort of push and pull, an overlaid moiré pattern creates an ocean-like experience, encouraging the viewer to very-nearly lose themselves. First collector to receive 4K 2GB experience upon request. Jana Stýblová 2022 — 1920 x 1080 | 30FPS | Seamless Loop

Agglo 720
Javascript, 720x1280px, 30mb, 5min
Agglo is exploration of pattern, rhythm and repetition: Text and images are linear data structures that depend on being wrapped by the medium. Agglo started at fxhash as an interactive, monochrome, generative token. Then it was adapted to the constraints of 8bidou for an on-chain version. 720px is the width of this 1/1 animated version, based on the same algorithm with extra pixels and motion.

Yasmine's Goo explores the mutability of our conception of reality, created by layering footage from a variety of sources. The base layer is a handmade geometric pattern in motion. The following layers are AI-generated latent walk videos from a model trained with abstract acrylic paintings by the artist. Then finally, footage of evolving color gradients give the piece its colors. Light leaks are used to signal shifts in perspective and guide the eye through the changing states of the piece.

Moldorm is a digital animation created in 2022 using a moiré pattern technique, consisting in the overlap of two images to create the illusion of a third image. In Moldorm, this imaging process is used to produce optical patterns on geometric shapes and motifs: 4 spheres appear to waver above a pulsating background. The title and composition of the animation are inspired by a fictional creature from an early videogame: a snake-like beast made of 4 globes using irregular motions to confuse the player. Moldorm is also informed by the op-art of Victor Vasarely who often incorporated spheres in his printed works and tapestries to generate impressions of depth and motion. Artwork information: Animated GIF, 1920x1080pixels, 72 frames, 256 colors, 25 fps, 2022. 4K versions available upon request.

Children of A Digital Sun, is a series of digital floral works inspired by Assembly Theory: a theory which aims to capture the biological signature of life by examining information structures, the intricacies of replication, and the idea of simple machines building more complex machines. Digitally processed specimens are conceptually treated as visual affectations, employed to elucidate morphic resonance in an attempt to inherit the collective memory of analog painting as an emergent property of the artist’s mind. The lucid operative and assembly threshold is embedded and expressed in the work’s final output, parsing the very cerebral act of painting and the artist’s creative process.
